NOTE: Onsite presence 07:00h – 17:00h (10 hours) during weekdays in two different datacenter (Region: Zürich)
- One Technical Person (Onsite Engineer) on each datacenter with a minimum skill level of “Mainframe Operator” or higher.

Responsibilities
Provide onsite hardware support during business hours and participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
Offer ad-hoc support during nights and weekends when required.
Attend daily hardware team meetings and manage incident tickets and work orders.
Perform daily checks on logical and physical hardware status.
Deliver 2nd-level mainframe hardware support and smart hands assistance (cabling, SFPs, tape media).
Coordinate vendor activities, manage datacenter access, and escort technicians on-site.
Plan and coordinate hardware and material deliveries, transport, and spare parts inventory.
Support BCP (Business Continuity Planning) recovery activities and act as evacuation delegate.
Assist with proactive maintenance and microcode management, including planning and vendor coordination.
Participate in installation/change meetings, raise RFCs, update work orders, and monitor hardware installations.
Perform cabling tasks, channel mapping, asset labeling, and media disposal support.
Handle incident lifecycle: receive, classify, diagnose, resolve, and document incidents.
Escalate incidents functionally or hierarchically as needed, in line with SLA requirements.
Identify and manage hardware-related problems, initiate diagnosis, and track vendor progress.
Contribute to root cause analysis, improvement suggestions, and handover to quality management.

Required Skills
Several years of hands-on experience in z/OS Multisite Sysplex environments (MVS, JES3, TSO, Syslog, EREP, REXX, etc.).
Strong knowledge of z/OS hardware peripherals including z15/z16 CEC, Coupling Facility, DASD, VTS, FICON Directors, DWDM.
Ability to assess and debug complex hardware failures and determine root causes.
Familiarity with switch hardware, preferably Brocade in DWDM environments; experience with IOGEN is a plus.
Independent, proactive work style with a positive attitude and strong problem-solving mindset.
Team-oriented with customer-focused thinking and the ability to work reliably and autonomously.
Fluent in German and proficient in English (both are mandatory).
