We invite applications for a PhD position in the field of quantum computing, to be advised by Dominik Hangleiter and co-advised by Renato Renner. In our group in Zurich, you will find a welcoming, open, and highly interactive research environment. Our work is collaborative and interdisciplinary, and it is firmly embedded in the international quantum computing community.
## Job description ##
The topic of your PhD will lie at the exciting interface of theoretical computer science, quantum computing architectures, and the foundations of quantum computing, with the exact focus depending on your personal interests and background. If you would like to gain a deeper understanding of the kind of research questions and challenges that we investigate in our group, you can find more detailed information on our website at dhangleiter.eu.
## Profile ##
We strongly encourage you to submit an application if you have an academic background in computer science, mathematics, or physics, if you are highly motivated to pursue a PhD, and if you are enthusiastic about collaborating and working together with others. Your PhD is expected to begin before the summer of 2026.
